What's happening at our Brightons nursery in Winter 2017/18.

Extra Curricular Activities

On a weekly basis the older children at Brightons, have the opportunity to engage in both physical, emotional, social and mathematical learning through "Enjoy a Ball" and/or "Planet Soccer".

This extra curricular activity is optional and at an additional cost (Payable directly to the outside agency).

On a weekly basis the 0-3 year olds at Brightons, have the opportunity to engage in a great fun and regular music session, with "Moo Music", where the children sing, dance, play, learn and have fun whilst doing it.

This extra curricular activity is optional and at an additional cost (Payable directly to the outside agency).

Exciting times at the Woods!

On a fortnightly basis, some of the older children within our Brightons setting visit the local woods.  The woods is an extension of the children's learning environment, where the children can embrace their natural environment.

The Benefits of Outdoor Play

The chance to connect with the natural world; first hand experiences of life and growth; endless opportunities for creativity and imagination; improved fitness and physical development – the countless benefits of outdoor play have a real positive impact on children's lives.

Some examples of our experiences in the woods include:

Den Building
Tree climbing
Learning about wildlife
Mathematical understanding through, eg counting conkers, measuring with sticks, and pacing out distances.
Understanding literacy through, eg mark making with sticks, making letters from natural objects.
